A Dance Instructor at the Indian Cultural Centre Monday night committed suicide by ingesting a poisonous substance, well placed sources told Demerara Waves Online News (www.demwaves.com).

Dead is 28-year old Sunil Kumar Lal. He is an Indian national who has been in Guyana since June last year.

The Indian Cultural Centre could not be reached for a comment and a staff member of the Indian High Commission said she was instructed to say that the mission was not prepared to speak on the matter.

Lal was rushed to a private city hospital where he died.

He allegedly ingested what is believed to be rat poison at his home on the lower East Coast Demerara.

www.demwaves.com was told that Lal’s death comes several weeks after a close female friend of his migrated.
